About
Ben McTaggart is a specialist corporate and commercial lawyer whose practice includes mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity investment, angel/seed/start-up advisory, secured lending & borrowing transactions and general commercial transactions.
Ben has substantial international and cross-border experience, having practised law with national law firms in Australia, London based firms in the United Kingdom and a national law firm in New Zealand. He enjoys the challenge of delivering simple solutions to complex problems. Ben’s unique combination of technical skills and practical experience means he is perfectly placed to help clients formulate and execute high-risk, high-value and complex transactions.
He is an excellent technical lawyer with a deep understanding of the commercial factors that shape and influence decision making in corporate transactions. His clients value his honesty, creativity and dedication and he has built strong long-term relationships by taking the time to understand clients’ businesses and focusing on the outcomes that actually matter.
Ben has acted for individuals, SMEs and large corporations across a range of industries and is passionate about delivering expert legal services in a clear, structured and straightforward way.
Education
Ben has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from QUT and Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Community
Ben gives a lot of his time to mentoring other lawyers in the legal profession.
Ben enjoys taking his children to watch live sport (being a tragic Gold Coast Suns supporter) and participates in the odd game of social cricket when he can.
