About

Mary Grant worked for almost a decade with one of Australia’s largest national law firms before co-founding McTaggart Grant Lawyers.

Mary is an accomplished corporate, and commercial and real estate lawyer and a key legal advisor to a range of local and national businesses. Her clients value her positive and pragmatic approach toward resolving legal issues and her ability to engage in positive collaboration with clients, their trusted advisors and other key stakeholders.

She has extensive knowledge and expertise in various areas of corporate and commercial law, including mergers & acquisitions, business acquisitions and disposals, business structuring, trusts, commercial transactions and shareholder arrangements.

Mary’s knowledge and expertise also extends to the acquisition and disposal of commercial real estate and commercial & retail leasing across multiple jurisdictions, having acted for listed aggregators with large commercial lease portfolios for many years.

Her experience spans across several industry sectors including childcare, veterinary, retail, food services, software and technology, building and infrastructure.

Mary is passionate about and enjoys guiding early-stage and high-growth businesses from inception to maturity, having acted for start-ups, investors, founders and family businesses as well as SMEs, shareholders, directors, partnerships and listed companies. 

Education

Mary has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and International Relations (Business) from Bond University and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Community

Mary is the former President of YP Gold Coast (a role she held for more than 2 years), a leading professional advocacy group which aims to grow the city’s corporate culture through exclusive networking events and opportunities for mentorship and business development. Although the torch has been passed to a new generation of executive members, Mary maintains an active interest in YP Gold Coast and McTaggart Grant Lawyers is a proud sponsor and supporter of the organisation.

Mary is also an avid touch football player and a member of the Palm Beach Touch Football Association.
